Penile Curvatures – Treating Peyronie’s

Peyronie’s disease causes an uncommon sexual dysfunction that makes a penis bends during erection. The disease is characterized by a hard, fibrous layer of scar tissue (plaque) that usually develops under the skin on the upper or lower side of the penis. When the penis is erect, the scar tissue pulls the affected area off at an angle, causing a curved penis. The plaque, formed by thickened layers of erectile tissue, is non-cancerous (benign).

The history of Peyronie’s disease starts with the French surgeon Francois de la Peyronie, who first described this condition in 1743. Peyronie’s disease can become a source of mental and emotional stress for you and your partner. Nevertheless, having this disease shouldn’t be seen as a reflection of your health, virility or masculinity.

If you have Peyronie’s disease that has progressed to include erectile dysfunction, remember that your partner may see your inability to have intercourse as a sign of diminished sexual desire. Communication is the key to making sure that this is not the case and will help strengthen your relationship. The most important thing is that there are quite a few choices for treating Peyronie’s.

You don’t need to suffer in silence as there are quite a few options at your disposal! Corrective surgery is one of the first things you’ll hear about when discussing Peyronie’s disease and treatment with your doctor. One procedure is performed to straighten the curved penis by ‘tucking’ the longer side with sutures just under the skin.

The key to the success of a surgical intervention is that it incorporates multiple pairs of sutures, which act together to lessen the tension on the other sutures during an erection and lessen the likelihood of any one suture breaking. It is not necessary to separate the nerve, blood vessel or urethra from the wall of the penis, as is often done” with corrective surgery.

Other types of surgery are quite invasive and run a higher risk of more severe side effects like numbness, incomplete straightness, and impotence. After the surgery, 63% of the patients in the current study had good erections, 25% moderate erections requiring sildenafil, and 12% poor erections. “At 6 months 93% of patients reported straight erections and 7% reported almost straight but acceptable erections,” the authors of the study note.

Researchers have found that, at a mean follow-up of 2.6 years, 15% of patients reported recurrence of curvature. In addition, four patients reported worsening erectile dysfunction. The down size of this procedure, as with any surgical procedures, is that the long term effects will not match your expectations.

Penis exercises may sound an unlikely choice of treatment here, but they have been proved effective in treating the curvature of the penis with the added bonus of not having to undergo dangerous surgical procedures. By bending the penis little by little to the opposite side, you can break the plaque, correct the curvature and restore the penis to its original shape.

The exercise is perfectly safe and can be performed by any man without special guidance or oversight as long as the directions are followed properly. Of course you won’t get the overnight results you can expect with surgery, but then again you won’t risk having a shorter penis or even not being able to engage in sexual intercourse at all.

Making Love When you Want to

Erectile dysfunction has robbed many men of the opportunity to make love when they wanted to. However, there are many new drugs on the market that allow men to control their sex lives as well as when they have an erection. There are lots of drugs to choose from including pills, jellies, and softtabs. All of these drugs come in a variety of brands that you must choose from. Different drugs work differently for every individual so you may need to try several. One popular drug for erectile dysfunction is Viagra SoftTabs as well as the generic version.

Both of these drugs are the same in the way they help you achieve an erection. The biggest difference is that the Viagra brand costs a whole lot more than the generic version despite the fact that they actually provide the same results. Don’t get confused with the softtabs however because they work the same, it’s just the generic version s cost a whole lot less money.

SoftTabs are also called Meltabs, because they literally melt in your mouth, and the generic and name brand versions are made the same. The best thing about the Meltabs is that they don’t take the hour or more to take effect like typical pills that are ingested. Even though an hour isn’t too long to wait, many times men who are in a sexual situation will find they want quicker results. Fortunately, the Meltabs help men achieve an erection in 15 minutes or fewer. This is great because it allows you to have sex when and where you want without having to wait for the drugs to take effect. It is important to realize that the Meltabs will not start working all by themselves. Instead, once you become sexually excited and have taken the pill then you will start to receive an erection within 15 minutes.

The Meltabs generic softabs Viagra pills are basically just lozenges that are placed in the mouth. They dissolve fast and are flavored with mint. The way the generic version and the name brand version work are the same. They stimulate receptors in the brain and when this happens the man is stimulate to have an erection. The drugs help the penis fill up with blood, which in no time results in an erection. Once the man has an erection he can expect to keep it up to five or six hours if he remains sexually excited.

The great thing about these softabs or meltabs is that they come in name brand and generic brand and can be purchased for an affordable price. Men who have erectile dysfunction want an option to help them enjoy their sex lives. Fortunately, there are options out there and Meltabs, the generic version as well as SofTabs are excellent at providing men quickly with the erection they desire.

Exposing Penile Enlargement Methods

When it comes about the truth on penis enlargement, people think about spam email and credit card scams and fraud. It’s true that there are marketers who’d stop at nothing just to make more money and then some, but that’s probably not the case for a handful of honest companies, dedicated to helping us gain those extra inches we need!

There are only a few methods for penis enlargement. Some of them are dangerous, some of them are ineffective. So here’s the deal on penis enlargement, what works and what not:

- Vacuum Pumps – They don’t work!

Vacuum pumps work by sealing the penis in an airtight tube and removing the surrounding air. The negative pressure then pulls blood (and lymphatic fluid) into the penis and inflates it. The process takes about a minute and the results can be very impressive.

The trouble is, as soon as you remove the tube, the penis wants to revert back to its normal size. You can staunch the outflow of blood and lymphatic fluid by fitting a constriction ring around the base of your penis. This generally allows the penis to maintain its expanded girth for a few minutes, sufficient for insertion and at least one change of position before you have to pump it up again.

Because pumps draw blood into the penis and make it swell, they’re useful in the treatment of impotence (erectile dysfunction). This may create an illusion of a larger penis, but the results are seldom permanent. Repeated use can damage elastic tissues in the penis, leading to less-firm erections.

- Pills, Patches, Lotions, Oils, Creams – They don’t work!

These usually contain vitamins, minerals, herbs or hormones such as testosterone that claim to enlarge the penis. None of these products has been shown to be effective. Worst case scenario: you can suffer from an allergic reaction to vitamins or you can overdose. In both cases, call the nearest Poison Control Center, show them the bottle and be very specific on the amount of substance you have ingested or rubbed into your skin.

- Surgery – It does work, but it’s very risky!

Surgery is the preferred method for any urologist. If you’ll ever go to a medical doctor for advice, surgery is the first and the last thing you’ll hear about. Some surgeons have developed several different enlargement techniques, none of them endorsed by medical organizations. The American Urological Association, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons(ASPS) have all issued policy statements against cosmetic surgical procedures to enhance the penis.

Studies have shown that the majority of men who undergo penis enlargement surgery aren’t satisfied with the results. Surgery may at best add an average of half an inch to the length of the flaccid penis. Surgery may not add any length to the erect penis.

Following various types of cosmetic penile enhancement surgery, some men have had to undergo additional operations to correct deformities caused by the original procedure. The ill effects include scarring, a shorter penis, hair on the base of the penis, a low-hanging penis, loss of sensitivity and abnormal fat lumps. Other complaints include impotence (erectile dysfunction), urinary incontinence and persistent pain.

Then there’s the cost: as much as $10,000 for a typical penis-enlargement surgery that doesn’t require additional corrective surgery. Because cosmetic surgery is seldom covered by insurance, you’ll likely have to bear the entire expense.

- Penis Exercises – They do work, but it will take quite some time to show results!

Penis exercises are a very inexpensive, safe and effective way to enlarge your penis. It is very possible that this method has been used for hundreds or thousand of years for penis enlargement, but no real research has been attempted to shed light on this subject.

Penis exercises work brilliantly and they come with the added bonus of giving you a lot more than a longer, thicker penis: you will also get to understand your body and its reactions better, which will greatly enhance your sex life.

- Traction Devices and Jelqing Devices – They are a way of taking the guess work out of penis exercises! They are a lot more expensive than just an exercise program membership, but they do have better results.

Traction devices and jelqing devices are the deluxe version of penis exercises. By applying the same controlled force and pressure each time you exercises, you will get faster results. If you know you need to see something happening to motivate you to continue, than this is what you need.

And this is the whole truth about penis enlargement methods. If you were wondering about penis enlargement, what works and what’s the best way to go about it, now you know and you can make your choice easier!

It’s Not Hard to Keep your Penis Pointing in the Right Direction. Just Follow these Easy Steps

A man is well known for his appreciation of tools, their proper maintenance and their most effective use. Which makes it that much more shocking that we fail to properly maintain our own carnal implements, be they mini drivers or diamond studded 12 inch drill bits.

From puberty onward, our tools suffer all kinds of self and outward abuse, from over excitement in tight levi’s to weekend-long bingers with women from whom we caught everything but their names. The result, long term, can be a dulled edge, a balky ball bearing, a flexible extension for the wrench when only a rigid one will do the job. But here we are with tool saving tips – that can keep you sharp well into your master craftsman days.

You better pay heed cause if you’re not careful, the woman in your life might just invoke the inviolable rule of tools, the scariest and most accurate one of all: If you want something right here, hire a handyman.

Avoid Penis Shrinkers (Smoking)

Smoking is a known cause for impotence and there’s some evidence that smoking affects erection size. Researchers found that smoker’s have significantly smaller penis sizes than non smokers. In addition to damaging blood vessels, smoking may cause damage to penile tissue itself, making it less elastic and preventing it from stretching. We have yet to hear a better reason to quit.

Get a Vasectomy

If you’re finished producing offspring or you’re sure you don’t want kids, consider investing in permanent renovations at the sperm factory. The risk of contraceptive failure can be a big source of anxiety for some men, especially those who’ve had a birth control disaster – or a scare in the past. That anxiety can lead to erection problems and cause the same vicious circle that makes performance anxiety such a mood killer. But if there’s no sperm, the risk of pregnancy is beyond minuscule. A properly performed vasectomy has an effectiveness rate of 99.9%.

Fire your Mistress

It’s common for men who start having affairs to stop having erections – so common in fact, that doctors who treat erectile dysfunction often ask their patients if they’re getting any action on the side. Unless your wife knows about, approves of, and participates in your new sex life – in which case we’d like to meet her – you’re bound to feel at least a little guilty about it when you’re with her. Guilt can turn to anxiety, and that can kill an erection.

Lose your Fat Gut

Besides the monastery, having diabetes is the quickest route to a lifetime of celibacy. In fact, more than 50% of men who have diabetes are impotent. The disease hits the penis with a double whammy. It accelerates the process of arterial disease, and it slows the transmission of stimuli along nerves throughout the body. And a numb penis, is not a happy penis.

Staying trim is the best way to avoid diabetes. However, if it’s already too late for that, be vigilant in checking your blood sugar. Men who are sloppy about controlling their levels have 70% more erection problems than those who stay on top of it.

Stop Ramming Your Penis into Hard Objects

One vigorously misplaced thrust is all it takes to rupture the corposa cavernosa, the elongated ‘erectile chambers’ that run the length of the penis. Don’t believe it? Try aiming your erect penis at the trunk of a tree. It’s roughly the same density as your partner’s pubic bone. A complete rupture will require surgery within 24 hours to stop internal bleeding and reduce the risk of permanent damage.

A partial tear isn’t as serious, but it may cause problems later on. As the linings of the corposa heal over with scar tissue, they lose their elasticity, leading to curvature pain, and eventually impotence. By some estimates, more than a third of impotent men have a history of ‘penile trauma’. To protect yourself, be careful when she’s on top. That’s the position most likely to cause damage.

Get Some Exercise

Start walking. In one study, researchers found that men who walked just three kilometres a day had half the rate of erection problems of more sedentary men. Twenty minutes of jogging or 30 minutes of weight training will work too.

Deposits that clog or stiffen penile arteries can wilt an erection faster than Patricia Lewis. Guys tend to think of their arteries as simple pipes that can become clogged, but there’s a lot more going on. The linings of those blood vessels are very biologically active areas where chemicals are being made and released into the bloodstream. The more you exercise, the healthier, cleaner and more flexible those linings become.

Fall Asleep Immediately after the Last Thrust

You hate to give up on one minute of post coital pillow talk, but ultimately you’re going comatose for her. Your penis needs as much shut eye as it can get. Every night while you sleep, you will have between three and five hour long erections. Those erections are not just there to make life interesting for your bedmate. They actually work to recharge your penis, keeping it well nourished with oxygenated blood. The more nocturnal erections you have, the more flexible your erectile tissue will become. And that may help keep erections strong as the years wear on.

The Three ED Drugs

FDA approved three drugs for the treatment of impotence: Cialis, Viagra and Levitra. All the three drugs work in the manner to increase the blood flow into the penis by relaxing the penile artery. These drugs are very much helpful to increase the erection. It is the effectiveness of the medicines in relation to the time they stay effective that separates them.

The effectiveness of viagra remains up to 4 hours and up to 5 hours for Levitra, but the effectiveness of cialis remains up to 36 hours and that’s why it is called “Weekend Drug” and the second largest selling ED drug in the world.

Now Viagra, Levitra or Cialis have presence in more than 80 countries and the World Wide Web make it available everywhere. Now online offer cheaper prices of impotence pills as well as you can get free consultation. Now days to buy cialis one doesn’t have to go to the chemist but it’s just a click away on internet.

Today more than 50 millions of men are suffering from erectile dysfunction in US alone. The research on erectile dysfunction shows that 30% men in the world are suffering from erectile dysfunction and 50% men over the age of 40 are severely.

Viagra and Cialis have made the good presence in the world for erectile dysfunction on the other hand Levitra is also gaining popularity over a short span of time. Most of the men started with the Viagra but they ended with cialis just because it is more effective and the effect of drug remains for 36 hours. Always consult to a healthcare practitioner before taking any erectile dysfunction drugs. Cialis can be taken without food or after having good diet.

Levitra is on the other hand a good erectile dysfunction drugs, but Levitra has fewer side effects compare to Viagra and Cialis. Levitra is very good for those men who have side effects with Viagra or Cialis.

All You Need to Know About Low Libido

What Causes Low Sex Drive? What Can You Do?

If you’re a man in mid life experiencing reduced sexual desire you’re not alone. Surveys show as many as 25% of men experience reduced sex drive and low sex drive affects one in three marriages. When low sex drive is mentioned, the spouse with the problem is usually categorized as the wife. However, there are many husbands who aren’t interested in sex with their wives. And there is plenty you can do to boost low libido and restore normal desire.

Low Sex Drive More Common Than You Think

Men find it hard to admit to or talk about low sex drive because being sexual is so much part of being a man. But low sex drive is a more common problem than you might think. Declining testosterone levels as a natural consequence of aging, plus stress from work and family demands can add up to sexual burn out. Sexual therapists report increasing numbers of men who experience low libido – and it’s often made worse because people find it so difficult to talk about. § Complaints about low desire are the No 1 problem brought to sex therapists.

Low Libido – You Don’t Have to Put Up With It

Whether lack of desire originates with husband or wife, the end result is the same. There is a lack of physical contact, which is experienced by the other partner as the ultimate rejection. Many couples think they are the only ones with the problem. They feel as though nothing can be done about it. But low libido is a problem that’s actually increased with the stresses of modern life – and sex is such a vital part of our lives no one should accept it’s “all over”. So if anyone tells you that a declining sex drive is something that you just have to put up with as you get older – they’re wrong.

Low Libido – What You Can Do About It If anyone tells you that low libido is something that you just have to put up with as you get older – they’re wrong. Thousands of men and women are discovering the benefits of natural sex boosters like tribulus terrestris, horny goat weed, maca, muira puama, and ginseng. Modern science and traditional medicine have joined forces to show how popular natural sex boosters work. Many of the active ingredients in traditional herbs have been investigated to work out just what it is in the herb which gives the good results. Those ingredients, in the form pure measurable active extracts, are now available in dietary supplement capsule which are easy to take and don’t cost a lot. However do not expect these natural products to work as quickly as pharmaceuticals, Natural sex boosters work a little slower, and while they may take a few days to work, they often provide additional benefits such as boosting libido and enhancing sensations.

Low Libido – Five Steps to Boost Desire Just Do It – frequent sex helps jump start desire.

§ Tailor activity to hormonal highs: Men’s testosterone, a primary hormone responsible for sexual desire, peaks at 7 to 8 in the morning.

§ Don’t bury your head in the sand. Ignoring the problem isn’t healthy. You need to get help.

§ Talk about what you need. § Don’t keep score. Stop the blame game. It’s a couple problem that requires change from both of you.

Low Libido Is NOT Impotence Low libido is the same as low sex drive – but not the same thing as impotence or erectile dysfunction. Impotence or ED is wanting to have sex but not being able to carry through on the desire. Low libido is having little desire for sex even if you are capable of achieving erections. Causes of Low Libido in Men The causes ofLow Libido in men are physical and psychological.

Physical Causes of Low Libido

§ Alcoholism – most common § Drug abuse – cocaine and marijuana § Obesity – common

§ Diabetes or other “major” disease

§ Prescribed drugs, particularly Proscar, a tablet used for prostate problems

Men should have testosterone, DHEA and other androgen levels checked whenever there is any noticeable reduction in sex drive.

Have a Health Examination

Low sex drive may be the result of a thyroid condition, diabetes, hypertension, high blood pressure or other major illness. You should also discuss what other medications you are taking, because some anti depressants, tranquilizers and antihypertensive drugs as well as illegal drugs like marijuana and cocaine can reduce sex drive.

Get Testosterone Supplementation if Needed For

Men, lifting testosterone levels can make a big difference in restoring libido and sex drive to normal levels. Testosterone is available in pill or patch form, or can be accessed by taking herbal formulas like proprietary supplement Herbal Ignite, containing Tribulus Terrestris.

Consider Supplements to Help Low Libido

Increasingly herbs which have been used traditionally by ancient peoples for thousands of years are being identified in modern science as useful for sexual enhancement.

Herb Name                         Herb Information

Avena Sativa                     Wild oats. Helps with stress, has been used to help nicotine withdrawal,                                                 improves sex drive.

Damiana                             This South America shrub has a testosterone-like effect and has long been                                                associated with increasing male potency.

Gingko Biloba                     Used in the East for thousands of years. Research has shown it improves                                                depression, circulation and blood flow to the brain.

Horny Goat Weed                A popular herb for improving sexual function.

Ginseng                               Used throughout the Far East as a general tonic to give extra energy and                                                    strength. Beneficial for people with diabetes.

Lose Weight to Help Improve Low Libido Easier said than done for sure, but the uncomfortable reality is big bellied men have flagging libido. Men with a 42 inch (106 cm) waist are more than twice as likely to have erectile problems andLow Libidothan those with smaller girths, according to a study of 2000 men aged 51 to 88. According to Larrian Gillespie MD author of The Gladiator Diet “for men, losing as little as ten pounds can have a dramatic effect on sex drive.” As the balance of body fat reduces, the more free circulating testosterone there is available to fuel sex drive.

The Gladiator Diet is based on a diet that should be 40% protein, 35% carbohydrates and 25% fats taken in six small meals a day.

§ Forget low carb fad diets. Only a diet that includes protein and carbs produces enough serotonin “the male hormone of bliss” according to Jed Diamond, author of The Irritable Male Syndrome – Managing the 4 Key Causes of Male Depression and Aggression.www.menalive.com

§ Alcohol gives serotonin a temporary bump but then dramatically lowers it, so it pays to go easy on booze.

§ To maximize testosterone, Diamond says, stay away from coffee, licorice and diet sweeteners.

Exercise to help Improve Low Libido Research shows inactive men are more likely to suffer Erectile Dysfunctionthan men who exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.

Five Essential Habits for Stress Control

§ Develop your relaxation skills § Pay attention to physical health

§ Become a time management expert

§ Exercise regularly

§ Prioritize commitments and responsibilities

Check out these stress tests for a range of tests you can take to learn more about your own stress levels and ability to cope. Or try the free stress test at Stress Canada and find out whether you are a Speed Freak, a Loner or a Drifter – three of five stress types identified in research.

Stop Smoking to Help Improve Low Libido

Smoking can lower testosterone and increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, aneurysms, and hypertension because of elevated cholesterol levels. You can also add impotency to that group, as elevated cholesterol clogs the sensitive small blood vessels responsible for trapping blood in the penis during an erection.

Don’t Put Up with Low Libido

You don’t have to be the one staying up watching TV, waiting for your partner to go to bed first, hoping she’ll (or he) will be asleep before you get to bed. You don’t have to put up with the guilt of feeling you can’t respond and that you can’t talk about it either. Many men take years to admit there is a problem and get around to doing something about it. Consult your health practitioner, research possible dietary supplements on the web, or talk to your pharmacist, and take action for a fuller and more enjoyable sex life.

Put an End to Premature Ejaculation

Millions of men throughout the world suffer from premature ejaculation, whether they know it or not. Also called premature climax, early ejaculation, ejaculation praecox, or rapid ejaculation, premature ejaculation occurs when a man loses voluntary control over his climax and ejaculates very quickly in a majority of his sexual encounters. This problem affects 25 to 40% of all men. According to Masters and Johnson, premature ejaculation is a problem if a man ejaculates before his partner in more than half of all sexual encounters.

Other definitions of premature ejaculation are slightly different. Many researchers have defined premature ejaculation as occurring when a man reaches orgasm within two minutes of penetration in 50% or more of all sexual encounters. In the 1950s, the renowned sex researcher Dr. Alfred Kinsey found that up to three quarters of all males are affected by premature ejaculation. Today’s sex therapists see premature ejaculation as characterized by a lack of voluntary control over the male orgasm, which can greatly reduce sexual satisfaction, self-confidence and overall well-being in one or both sexual partners.

For years, premature ejaculation was regarded as a psychological problem. Today, we know this is not entirely true. It is a biological and mental problem, and it is related to erectile dysfunction. Fortunately, there is good news for those who suffer from this problem. Many different cures exist that are simple, easy and effective.

A main cause of premature ejaculation is extreme sensitivity to stimulation in many men. They simply cannot bear much sexual contact before losing control and reaching climax. There are a number of different creams which dull feeling in the penis, allowing these men to perform for longer periods of time. Also, multiple condoms can be used to inhibit feeling in the penis.

The problem with these methods is that they reduce the feeling of sex and the enjoyment of contact.

Fortunately, there are different methods you can use to prolong sexual contact that don’t dull the sensation. One technique, “the squeeze method,” involves halting sex when the man approaches climax and putting pressure on the frenulum, the connecting skin at the tip and directly beneath the head of the penis. This effectively stoppers the flow of semen and allows you to continue having sex once the desire to ejaculate passes.

Similarly, “the stop method” involves stopping sex when the man approaches orgasm. But when using this method, no pressure is applied to the penis. The man simply waits until the feeling of impending ejaculation passes, then continues to have sex. “The stop method” and “the squeeze method” can be repeated until you are ready to orgasm.

Another method to stave off orgasm that doesn’t necessitate stopping sex is erectile dysfunction exercises. These techniques strengthen the obscure but influential pubococcygeus muscle, which regulates ejaculation and urination. By training and developing this muscle you can learn so suppress ejaculation while continuing to have sex, which will greatly increase both your and your partner’s enjoyment.

ED no Cause for Shame

Erectile dysfunction or ED is the one of the most common problems of men’s sexual health and the most common form of male impotency. Throughout the world ED affects the sexual lives of many men of every age group and their partners in the one way or another. This disease usually covers many disorders but commonly ED is referred as the inability to obtain an enough erection for an absolutely fulfilled sexual activity.

This should be noticed that the word ‘impotency’ could also be used to describe other sexual problems related with lack of sexual desire, ejaculation and orgasm. The word ED clears the fact that other problems are not concerned with erectile dysfunction.

Erectile dysfunction or ED varies in severity. It can be of three types. They are, the total failure to achieve erection, inconsistency in the ability to get erection or a habit or tendency to sustain erection for the very shorter period of time. This discrepancy makes defining and estimating ED a rather tougher task. The bigger problem is that mostly suffering men are often very hesitant in discussing this problem. So this problem usually remains undiscovered. While ED can occur at any age but, naturally it is uncommon among the youngsters and more frequent in the elderly people. Only some sort of physical injury can make any young man suffer from this problem.

By the age of 45 this problem starts developing as a very negligible part of sexual life. Studies conducted in USA showed that only 5 percent of men of the age of 40 were experiencing natural ED. The penis contains two hollow pipe like and spongy structures that goes along with the tube that carries urine and semen out of the body. When a man gets sexually aroused the signals from brain causes more blood to flow through these pipe like structures causing them to expand as much as seven times of their normal size.

This increase in blood flow produces erection by straightening and stiffening the penis. When this sexual arousal is finished the blood is drained out of these spongy muscles and the penis regains its normal non- erected size and shape. Sexual arousal, response of nervous system and the response of blood vessels are the three components that work in a very delicate collaboration with each other to produce and sustain erection. If the work of any of these components is disturbed by any external or internal threat it can disturb man’s health and cause erectile dysfunction.

Many physical problems can cause ED, such as, diabetic neuropathy, any cardiovascular disease, surgery of prostate cancer, injury to spinal cord and hormonal disorders such as low testosterone count. Sexual health of the men with addiction of excessive smoking, alcohol and other drug abuse also suffers from ED. Some psychological issues like stress, anxiety, depression, guilt of not completing the expectations of his partner, low self esteem and fear of sexual failure also contributes as much as 20 percent to the reasons of erectile dysfunction. The condition worsens when both physical and non-physical factors combine to cause ED.

For example a small physical problem that delays erection may cause anxiety and doubts in man’s mind about achieving an erection. This anxiety further degrades the condition of ED. Generally it is noticed that a man suffering from ED, caused by any physical factor also suffers from these psychological factors. In a one line it can be said that erectile dysfunction is a sign of any physical or psychological problem that needs immediate treatment.

In the current era, where so much research had been conducted to find out the treatment for every thing, medication of ED was also given special attention. The treatment for erectile dysfunction has a wide variety of options that includes everything from medication to use of mechanical devices to surgery and psycho counseling. Before deciding the best treatment or the pair of treatment, the physician had to examine the exact cause and the severity of your erectile dysfunction.

In some cases the treatment also depends on the man’s willingness to spend money and also on the preference of you and your partner. Oral medication for ED includes drugs like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra.

The first to come in market was viagra. It was approved by FDA in 1998 and was launched in the very same year becoming the first FDA approved medicine for the treatment of ED. Since then, cialis and levitra have also been approved, which provided more choices in oral medication. These pills share many thing but they also have many dissimilarities. They vary in doses, effectiveness, power and side effects. Needle injection therapy and muse also comes as the treatment of ED. In NIP a very fine needle is used to inject alprostadil (Caverject, Edex) into the base of the penis.

It produces erection in about five to twenty minutes, which can last up to 1 hour. It has proved handy because injection goes directly to the spongy tubes and because very fine needle is used pain is also minor.

But side effect like bleeding from penis can also occur. Prolonged erection is the most common side effect. MUSE or Medicated Urethral System for Erection is used to insert a small suppository into the tip of penis. It helps to increase the blood flow, which causes erection. It is a painful therapy in which side effects like pain, minor bleeding from urethra can occur. The next treatment uses vacuum devices.

This is done by putting a plastic tube around the penis and then pumping to create a vacuum in that tube. Once erection has occurred a ring is placed around the base of the penis to maintain it.

This ring is removed after sex is over. The treatment of surgery is for those who are suffering from ED caused by some physical damage to penis or pelvis area. Psycho counseling is advised to the cases where stress, anxiety or any sort of psychological factor is responsible for ED.

Erectile dysfunction was once considered a very rare and a taboo subject but now that more and more people are coming out to see treatment it has no longer remained the same. Because of this, doctors are getting help in researching about the causes of ED and are finding new and better treatments.

Problems With Erection

Though it may seem to be a natural and effortless occurrence, performing sexual intercourse requires any number of physical functions in both men and women to occur. In the absence of these physical functions occurring as they normally do, sexual intercourse can be difficult or even impossible to perform. Though women can and do have difficulty with sexual functioning, what’s likely the most commonly occurring sexual dysfunction is a man being unable to achieve erection.

Erection problems aren’t infrequent, though not all men have erection problems and erection problems certainly don’t always occur. Erectile problems are common enough that there’s a medical terminology to describe the problem. The specific medical term for erection difficulty is erectile dysfunction, or ED. As there’s a medical term for erection difficulties, there’s also naturally enough pharmaceuticals available to treat the disorder. Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of erection problems in fact have nearly become household names, with the Viagra brand leading the way.

Treatment options aside, what are the actual causes at work when a male is unable to achieve an erection? As with any medical problem, various reasons explain the difficulty, but a few specific causes are the most typical. Anxiety is one potential explanation. Males may feel a pressure to take the lead role during intercourse, and to consistently please their partner. This sort of expectation pressure can lead to performance anxiety, which when significantly internalized can prevent the male from being able to sexually function at all.

There are also medical conditions that can prevent a male from achieving an erection. Problems with the prostate gland can affect erection capability. The prostate is in direct proximity to the penis and an irregular prostate, a condition older men tend to have, can disrupt erection as well as cause urinary problems. Diabetes is another condition that’s linked to erection difficulties. Erection problems due to diabetes is nearly certain to be caused by the circulatory problems diabetes presents. Circulation often gets overlooked in the erection process, but it’s an absolutely critical factor.

Another frequent factor in erection problems is stress. Modern life presents a multitude of challenges and difficulties. People can feel burdened and unappreciated, something that’s true for men and women. There’s also the stress that can occur from a specific problem cropping up, as often seems to happen in most of our lives. Under enough stress, any person is going to be compromised in how they are able to physically perform. Still, stress rarely remains in place indefinitely, and once stress has drained off, erection problems caused by stress will become resolved.
